2021 Toyota Highlander Redesign – The next complete Redesign of the Toyota Highlander is likely to come for 2021 years. However, no official specifications or details are released.
The Model is currently introduced to 2014 and has undergone several updates. The more aggressive front end and standard automatic emergency braking have helped to make the three-line SUV a top seller. For the year 2021, expect Highlander to move to a car maker’s TNGA platform such as Camry and Avalon redesigned.
Speaking with WardsAuto, Toyota engineer Yoshikazu Saeki suggests that Highlander can take on a large RAV4 form. This seemed to be in line with the spy photos depicting the next Highlander undergoing testing and displaying a box-shaped profile reminiscent of the RAV4. But will there be enough difference between the two models? It remains to be seen.
Under the hood, expect to continue to see the Gas & Hybrid option. In terms of price, Toyota has spent the last year or so adjusts the price for the hybrid, bringing them lower and closer in line with the gas model. Although competitors have shifted to turbo, Toyota refrained from making major changes, at least in terms of other important models.
Currently, it remains to be seen whether the next Highlander will get the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, an updated system that debuted in Corolla Hatchback which added detection of traffic signs and cyclists plus a feature track Track that works with the vehicle Adaptive cruise control system. Not all models get the system at the same time.
Release information is not yet available. However, the production schedule shows the Highlander 2020 will be on sale in January 2020. If that’s the case, we can see the release date for the next generation Highlander at the end of 2020 or early 2021.
