2024 Toyota Tundra Redesign – Toyota unveiled a new generation of its Tundra full-size pickup truck late Sunday night. Set to go on sale later this year as a 2024 model, the arrival of the new Tundra is a big deal because it is only the third generation since the original debuted as a 2000 model. The good news is that Toyota has not cut any corners, its 2024 Tundra has benefited from a new platform, new powertrain and the latest in-cabin technology.

The platform, internally referred to as an F1 (and is expected to support subsequent Tacoma and Helix pickup trucks), features high-strength boxed, steel-ladder construction, as well as aluminum (bed-like) to reduce weight in key areas. Relying on a fully boxed design, Toyota says the rigidity and off-road capabilities on the outgoing Tundra are significantly improved.
The rear section has been widened to improve stability, as well as towing capacity which is now a maximum of 12,000 pounds. The maximum payload is 1,940 pounds. The rear section benefits from a multi-link suspension with coil springs instead of outgoing tundra leaf springs, a design that is also featured on the Ram 1500 and some Ford F-150 models. The Monotube Billstein Shock comes standard in TRD off-road packages, while upgrading to a range-topping TRD Pro grade will give you an internal bypass shock of 2.5 inches diameter from the Fox, the front pair will provide a 1.1-inch lift. The TRD Pro brings a new front stabilizer bar, aluminum front skid plate (with extra underbody protection), Falcon Wildpick all-terrain tires, and several more off-road goodies, including driving mode for a variety of surface conditions. Some of the suspension parts in the TRD Pro are painted in bright red.
Two powertrain options are offered in the 2024 Tundra, both based on the same 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6. Yes, Tundra’s much-loved 5.7-liter V8 has finally been dropped. The 2024 Tundra delivers base options, branded i-Force, 389 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque and actually beats the number of older V-8s. Upgrade to the i-Force Max and you’ll get 437 hp and 583 lb-ft, as well as a hybrid system where an electric motor-generator between the engine and the transmission can act as an engine starter, recover power under braking, and off-the-shelf. This screen can be extremely handy during towing or off-roading as it can show the exterior of the vehicle from multiple angles to help keep the truck (and trailers attached) away from any external hazards. There are also opinions for testing cargo or attached trailers in bed. Power extending and folding tow mirrors are also available.
Standard for a cluster of analog gauge instruments with a 4.1-inch screen but a 12.3-inch fully digital option is available. Other features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, Wi-Fi connectivity for up to 10 devices, and a voice-activated assistant that can handle key tasks like locating points of interest, adjusting audio settings, or making a phone call.
The 2024 Toyota Tundra Redesign is being manufactured at the Toyota factory in San Antonio, Texas, where the outgoing Tundra was built. Pricing data will be announced near the market launch later this year.
The current Toyota Tundra has impressed us enough to win the MotorTrend Truck of the Year award … in 2006. Since then, the Japanese carmaker has only kept lipstick coats on its aging pickups while competitors such as the Chevrolet Silvarado, Ford F-150, GMC Sierra and Ram 1500 have received at least one full-on redesign. An all-new Toyota Tundra for 2024

Inside, the new Tundra Toyota will welcome the latest NTune infotainment technology. It includes an available 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a large head-up display unit. Toyota Goody’s full safety sense suite will be available, including automatic braking, advanced radar cruise control, automatic lane centering and lane-keeping assistance, and more.
2024 Toyota Tundra on-sale date and price
While we expect Toyota to unveil the 2024 Tundra before mid-next year, we don’t expect Toyota to be rolling models from San Antonio, Texas, factories and reaching dealerships by the end of 2021. When it comes down to it, the 2024 Tundra could sport a base price close to the current truck’s 35,000 figure, or the brand could reintroduce lower, less equipment-rich pruning layers in lineups in an effort to capture fleet or entry-level buyers.
However, four-wheel drive, more technology, a larger cab or bed, and more powerful or improved powertrain options will increase the cost of the truck. Plan to spend over $ 55,000 to get into the 2024 Tundra’s valuable trims.
