2024 Toyota 4Runner – The new TRD Sport model is the biggest change to the 2024 Toyota 4Runner, as the old SUV enters another model year.

While existing TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro models emphasize off-road capabilities, the TRD Sport was designed with road driving in mind, Toyota said in a press release. The new model derives a cross-link relative absorption system (X-REAS) suspension from the 4Runner Limited trim level. It’s a fancy way of saying it has adaptive shutters and a central controller designed to reduce pitch and yaw.

TRD Sport still retains the off-road capability baked on the base 4Runner platform. It is available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, the latter includes a 2-speed transmission. Even the rear-wheel drive models have a 9.0-inch ground clearance, while the four-wheel drive models boast a 9.6-inch ground clearance.

The TRD Sport adds a color key exterior trim, 20-inch wheels with Dark Gray Accents, a hooded scoop and black roof rails. In 2024, all 4Runner models will also receive LED lights (high and low beam) and fog lights.

The interior of the TRD Sport has a leather upholstery with a gray contrast stitching, TRD logos on the front headrests. TRD Sport floor mats, TRD switch and heated front seats.

All 4Runner models use the same 4.0-liter V-6, producing 270 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission, and the rear-wheel drive models get a standard limited-slip differential. Toyota cites a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.

The 2024 Toyota 4Runner should hit dealers later this year, with prices to be announced closer to launch.

When will Toyota transform its beloved 4Runner? And what will it look like when it gets overhauled?

These are two very timely and appropriate questions to ask. The Toyota 4Runner is definitely a must-have as it has not received one since the 2010 4Runner. They are 11 years old.

Definitely not the longest Toyota stretch without a new body style. Look at the Tundra. It has been without major design changes since 2007. Fans are excited that the tundra will soon be completely redesigned.

2024 Toyota 4Runner

It’s only natural to wonder what will come next for our fan-favorite Toyota 4Runner. After all, this is one of the last true SUVs left on the planet. Its body design allows it to withstand harsh terrain and difficult obstacles. One of the hardest vehicles around.

However, we all know that it is time for a change soon. The problem is that we don’t know when. So much emotion to feel here.

Toyota is suspiciously tense about plans for the upcoming Toyota 4Runner and Toyota Tacoma. We do not know when they are planned to be transformed. They also radio silent even in one specification for the next generation 2024 Tundra.

For this reason, we must wonder for ourselves.

Everything here becomes interesting. In the last two months, I’ve heard three different “4Runner remake model years” from several sources.

Another carmaker revealed to me that they know the 4Runner will be redesigned for the 2025 model year. A couple of different people in the circles who know this have told me that this is not true at all. That we will see a brand new 2025 Toyota 4Runner.

But then I recently heard from two Toyota sources that they were told to expect the year 2024 of the 6th generation 4Runner.

Are you as confused as I am now?

It would be a solid strategy for Toyota to simultaneously launch two much-anticipated next genes. Talk about creating hype. Strong hype. To have a brand new Toyota Tundra and 4Runner at the same time would be virtually mind-boggling if you are a Toyota truck and SUV lover.

The fact that Toyota has not yet revealed even one detail about the new 4Runner does not always disqualify this speculation from proving to be true. Toyota has yet to say a peep about the next-generation 2024 Tundra, and it should be here by the end of this calendar year. Fast approaching.

However, I could also argue that this is true, however, by saying that no news really means no news. The 2024 Toyota 4Runner could be a carryover from 2021.

Very likely. In fact, this may be the most likely scenario.
