In any shade, the GR supra stands out, but it carries some shades better than others. Our back-to-back checkers marked in Renaissance Red (2.0) and Absolute Zero (3.0), and while the white is subtle and flies under the radar with a storm viewing eye, the red just looks the part on something like Curvacas the Supra’s body.
GR Supra Performance
Last year’s supra was barely slow, but with more force glass points of the 3.0-litre Turbo straight-six (yes, the BMW acquired one), it is now faster than before. 0-60 mph eventually comes under four seconds, with the claimed 3.9-second sprint now two-tithes of last year. The difference is due to a light suspension retune, as well as increases of 47 HP and three lb-ft over last year’s engine. Engine and transfer
Way back when the Toyota supra planned capability was born, six-cylinder models were called the Celica supra, while those with two less cylinders were called only the Celica. No longer is that the case, and for the first time, you can now buy a supra with a four-brage under the hood. It is a BMW-acquired 2.0-litre B48 motor development 255 HP and 295 lb-ft, the latter about a broad engine speed series 1550-4400 rpm. The 3.0-litre Turbo-six in the upper models are finally given Z4 levels of strength for the new model year, up to 382 HP and 368 lb-ft. Drive is sent to the rear axis, but despite less power to be more manageable in the new base option, there is still no manual in sight and both models retain the exceptional eight-speed automatic gearbox.
As you expect, the four-cylinder engine lacks the snoring and punching of the bigger six. BMW’s four-banger feels brave enough under normal driving, thanks to its 295 lb-ft of torque available from just 1 550 rpm, but the car displays a lot of Turbo lag when trying to punch it off the line without warning. And as with most modern Turbo four-cylinder engines, the strength dies as it approaches the place, asking you to move early to keep it in the sweet place. With two less cylinders turning petrol into noise, the Supra 2.0 also lacks the aoeral sensation that was produced by the 3.0 with its intoxicating cracks and appeared.
On the opposite side of the 2021 supra spectrum, the 14 percent increase in strength on the 3.0-litre inline-six is a very welcome additive. At 3 181 pounds, the Supra 2.0 is more than 200 pounds lighter than his six-cylinder counterpart. Most of the weight savings come out with two less cylinders under the hood, but shedding the 3.0’s customizable suspension and active differential helped shearing a few lbs. We still prefer Toyota’s comfortable approach to suspension tuning over BMW’s racetrack-derived stiffness and the revoted chassis on the 2021 Supra 3.0 just reinforce this opinion. The 2021 supra 3.0 features lightweight aluminum braces, attaching the prop towers to the radiator and increase the lateral rigidity. Other adjustments are made to send the electrical power, customizable variable suspension, vehicle stability control, and active differential in order to prevent the supra of morphing in a tail-Happy band Shredder. The COVID-19 landscape has prevented us from discovering how all these chassis changes improve the supra on a racetrack, but we suspect the 2021 model is still geared on backroad barnstorming as setting up shot records.

Verdict: Is the 2021 Toyota GR supra a good car?
We have supra of last year’s love for several times on the road and on the racetrack. For 2021, Toyota has both improved on a winning formula and providing customers with more choice. It should both be considered victories in a decreasing sports car market, but if we are honest, there is only 1 2021 supra we recommend.
The four-cylinder car lacks only the cinema to be found in the six-cylinder model. Toyota is still officially announces prices for the 2021 model year, with the expiration date for this information set as June 17th. However, we do not see the 2021 models that are much more expensive than last year, and the newly added 2.0 should make the supra significantly more feasible on a little over $40 000. Last year’s three-trim-lineup has ranged from $49 990 for the 3.0 to $55 250 for the first edition, with the 3.0 Premium divides the difference at $53 990. We expect 2021 prices to be within $1 000 hereof.
