2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Specs Review – Toyota has just shown what is equivalent to a half-cycle upgrade for the Tacoma medium-sized pickup truck at the Chicago Auto Show. Having been completely redesigned for model year 2016, the Tacoma 2020 enjoys a slightly different style from the beginning and a lot of technology/comfort enhancements. Almost all of the equipment levels of the Tacoma 2020 will receive a new grill and a set of wheels. It’s a minor change, but maybe they’re working with the old mantra: “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.” The Tacoma has been the most sold in the segment for 14 consecutive years.

A new information and entertainment system is located in the center of the board now, with functionality for Apple display, Android Auto and even Amazon Alexa. The SR Edge will have a seven-inch infotainment screen, while the SR5 and top trucks get the eight-inch drive. Each new Tacoma (except manual transmission trucks) will get an updated JBL audio system to accompany the new screens. For your comfort, Toyota has added an electrically adjustable driver’s seat to most grades of Tacoma, which were formerly manual. If you opt for the TRD Sport or higher, you will get a keyless entry. The LED headlamps come standard in the Limited, luxury-oriented, while the lamps are optional in the TRD Sport motif.
Toyota brought changes to the TRD Pro for those who also want the ultimate off-road capability. The unique LED/DRL sequential headlamps look great. It obtains different 16-inch rims and black insertion taillights, along with a new army-green option for rounding the outside. These new wheels are four pounds lighter than before, causing adjustment changes to Fox’s 2.5-inch internal bypass springs and shocks. It probably doesn’t mean much on the way, but it’s always good to see improvements.

The Tacoma is also adding cameras to the off-road experience, with its new panoramic view Monitor and Multi-terrain Monitor as standard features for the TRD Pro. These systems consist of cameras to see the terrain around you from all angles. There’s even a camera pointing down so you can see the floor directly under the truck. This is expected to prevent any unnecessary damage through rough terrain. All the additional luxury of the other ornaments, such as the electric seat and the informative entertainment, is also included in standard way in the TRD Pro.

In case you were wondering, the same motor trains that used to lead to the renovated truck. This means that a 2.7-liter four-cylinder producing 159 horsepower and 180 lb/ft of torque is standard. Our preference is the 3.5-liter V6 with 278 horsepower and 265 pounds-feet of torque. Fortunately, you can still pair the six-speed manual transmission with the V6. A six-speed automatic is standard, otherwise.

Toyota has not said when the Tacoma 2020 will arrive at the dealerships, nor do we know of any price adjustments. However, we hope that the model of the year 2020 is this summer or autumn. When it goes on sale, the medium-sized truck market will be a little fuller, with the Ford Ranger now on sale and the Jeep Gladiator on the way.

Tacos are no longer just for Tuesdays. Witness the debut of the Toyota Tacoma 2020, the latest version of the most sold medium truck for 14 years in the United States, which took place on a Thursday as part of the 2019 car Show in Chicago. Most of the six models (SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro and Limited) available in the third generation van now feature a new grille and new wheel designs. The energy still comes from a four-cylinder 2.7 liters with 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque, or the update V-6 of 3.5 liters with 278 horses and 265 lb-ft. Both are coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the V-6 fortunately can still be had with a six-speed manual in the TRD Sport.

V-6 Cleats serve a standard drag pack and can extract up to 6.800 lbs of meat (or chicken or pork). The package includes a receiver hitch, a transmission cooler, an engine oil cooler, a power steering cooler, an 130 amp alternator, a four and seven-pin connector with converter and a trailer swing control. The Taco shell is still in a 127.4-inch wheelbase, while regular cabs have six-foot beds and five-foot double cabs.

Inside, each Tacoma has an enhanced audio system and 8.0 inch or 8.0 inch larger standard optional touchscreens that are compatible with Amazon Alexa, Android Auto and Apple display. Apart from a new grille, the work-oriented SR is like the 1989 and adds a flashing wiper function and an optional bed light.

The SR5 and superior models obtain a new electrically adjustable driver seat in 10 directions with electric lumbar support, while the SR5 itself has a new 16 inch dark satin wheel, darker taillights and fabric upholstery. Redesigned.

The TRD Sport has all the above plus a smart key, chrome inserts for taillights, LED fog lights and 17-inch wheels. The Tacoma TRD Off-Road is based on that with the Bilstein shock absorbers tuned with TRD, a rear differential with lock, an outstanding attendance control, a multi-terrain selection and a tracking control as standard. The Tacoma TRD Pro was also updated for 2020 along with the rest of the TRD Pro line, which now includes Sequoia.

The Limited, the last of the line, rolls on 18-inch wheels and receives standard LED lamps and headlamps for the day, chrome back-light inserts and the new panoramic view Monitor that shows views of the entire truck. (We can’t wait to shake a hand under the side mirror cameras and pretend a giant is trying to eat our Taco). Toyota Safety Sense P is included in all areas and offers pre-collision braking with pedestrian detection, lane warning exit with oscillation warnings, automatic high lights and dynamic cruise control.

The Tacomas of the American market are assembled in San Antonio, Texas, and in Baja California, Mexico, and the truck is in a particularly attractive segment at the moment; Upgrades should help in the fight to defend against the new Ford Ranger and the Jeep Gladiator, and the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon remain threats. Prices for the Tacoma 2020 must be announced closer to the date of sale by the end of this year. We’ll close with one suggestion: the best day to buy a new Taco, or any new car, is usually on Tuesday.
